Web and mobile app development.

Turn your idea into a working first version.

You have an app idea. I help you choose what the first version needs, then build and test it. We agree the launch work too. You work directly with me from the first call to the finished app.

From £4,000

For a small first version. We agree the features, design work, platforms, launch tasks, price and dates before I start.

A good fit

You have an idea and need someone to build it.

01

You want a first version people can use

We start with the main thing your customers need to do. We choose the features that make that possible and save the rest for later.

02

You have a plan or some designs

I turn your brief, sketches or designs into a working app, including its database and integrations with other services.

03

Your agency needs a developer

You manage the client. I build the agreed app under your agency’s name, with clear responsibilities and instructions for your team.

Included in the service

What you get.

We write down what the first version includes. From £4,000 does not mean a website, iPhone app and Android app all for one price. We agree which platforms to build for and price them before work starts.

A written plan and price
You know which screens, features, accounts and integrations are included. The plan also says what you need to supply, how we will test the app, who does what and when the work is due.
Your app, built in your accounts
I build the interface and backend. I use React and Next.js for web apps, React Native and Expo for mobile apps, and Supabase where it fits.
Tests for critical user journeys
We test the tasks your app depends on, such as signing in or making a payment, where included in the build. We check success and failure cases on the chosen devices. I add suitable automated tests and record the results.
Help getting the app launched
Your quote lists the web deployment or app-store submission work included, plus any responses to store reviews. Hosting, paid tools and store accounts are separate costs.
Your code and handover notes
You get the code, account access and setup and deployment instructions. You own the code I create for you once the final payment is made, as set out in our agreement.

How it works

Plan it. Build it. Launch it.

  1. 01

    Choose what to build first

Tell me who the app is for and what it should help them do. We agree the first version, your budget, what you will supply and where the app will launch. You do not need any code to get started.

  2. 02

    See the app take shape

You review working versions at agreed points. If you want to add something, I explain the extra cost and time before doing the work.

  3. 03

Test it and get it ready to use

We check the app against our plan, complete the launch tasks in your quote and make sure you have the code, access and instructions.

We agree dates and review points for your app. Most updates happen in writing. Calls are available on UK evenings and selected weekends. We plan around the materials you need to supply and any waiting time for services or app-store reviews.

Questions

Before we start.

What can you build from £4,000?
A small first version with clear features. For example, a simple member portal with sign-in, one user role and one main task may fit if you supply the branding. I check the details before quoting. More platforms or complex integrations will cost more.
Do I need designs or a technical plan?
No. Start with the problem you want to solve and some examples. We agree what design work is included and what branding, words and images you will supply. A large design project, or an idea that needs more thought, may need a separate planning stage.
Can you build for web, iPhone and Android?
Yes, if the app fits the tools I work with. We choose the platforms for your first version and price each one. App-store submission is included only if your quote says so. Apple and Google decide whether to approve an app.
How long will my build take?
It depends on what we are building, what you need to supply and when I can start. Your quote includes dates and review points. If time is tight, we can look at a smaller first version.
What if I have already started building?
I can help with that too. App completion & launch covers a set of changes to an existing app. Focused repair covers one clear app problem or store-release task.See app completion & launch
What happens after launch?
You keep the code and accounts. I quote later features as new work. Existing clients can also choose a monthly plan for a small amount of ongoing help. You pay for hosting and any tools your app uses.
