I'm Ahmed Gadir. I live in London, where I design and build software.

I'm a self-taught developer with 6 years of experience designing and building software. My journey began as a Junior Frontend Developer at AG-Grid, a startup behind a popular data grid library. During my time there, I provided developer support across major frontend frameworks and authored several blog posts. I also traveled to the US, Spain and the Netherlands to showcase the company's product at developer conferences.

A program is a building of thought. It is costless to build, it is weightless, and it grows easily under our typing hands.

My next step was Coremont, a cloud-based financial portfolio platform initially developed at Brevan Howard, a renowned hedge fund. This fast-paced environment taught me how to build enterprise-level applications. My accomplishments included developing a component library and deepening my knowledge of frontend architectures and patterns.

In addition to freelance work, I've built websites for clients using Shopify and Squarespace, creating custom solutions. I often recommend website builders for their ease of use and maintenance. My expertise in UX and design principles ensures websites are performant, accessible and visually appealing.

Fast forward today, I work as a Senior Developer for a large Data Security company. In my free time I've taken an interest in building full-stack applications and learning about the entire product development lifecycle. My goal now is to build great products that solve real and interesting problems.

Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.
